Pressure swing adsorption (PSA)


The process of pressure swing adsorption (PSA) for the generation of hydrogen out of many different hydrogen-rich raw gases is the latest state of technology and is globally used today.

Hydrogen-rich gas streams can be economically purified by pressure swing adsorption plants.


The generation of very pure hydrogen - with a purity up to 99.999+ vol.% - and at the same time high recovery in addition with low operation costs is the advantage of this process.


Mostly the plants consist of four or more adsorption vessels, so that a continuous hydrogen product stream can be ensured.

The PSA-plants are operated with fully automatic adaptation of the cycle times which are adjusted according to the plant capacity. Thereby also at part load a high efficiency can be achieved.
